Meet the Board of BoldeReach

BoldeReach - Board of Directors

Bottom Row (L to R) - Regina Rain Richardson, Shelly Ruspakka, Lisa Prassack, Nicky Wolman, Carol Batrus, Rebecca Premus

CAROL BATRUS began her professional life conducting nutritional research at MIT. She then shifted to applying nutritional support to patients in hospitals. Feeling frustrated by the ineffectiveness of the health care delivery system, she changed course, completing an MBA at Columbia University. After ten years working for a prestigious investment bank, she moved to Boulder. Longing for more emotional rather than material fulfillment, she cut the tether to her safe existence and journeyed alone to live in a primitive Zulu village. Her job was to help tribal members adapt to their rapidly changing economic and cultural environment. During her 2½ year stay, she trained Zulu women in entrepreneurial skills, established a micro-lending program, improved craft skills, developed community gardens and acted as a role mode to help the women gain their rightful and necessary place in the community. She returned to Boulder and continues with her commitment to help all women receive the respect and equitable treatment that for centuries has been denied them.
